Fact Sheets on “Critical Roles” and Future Skills in Supply Chain Management

Twenty-two so-called “critical” professions were identified and classified into four clusters based on the nature of the skills required and how they are applied. Key hard and soft skills, obstacles, and levers for actionare then detailed in each of the fact sheets produced following two collaborative workshops facilitated by our partner Argon&Co during our RISC 2026 conference. The professionals in attendance helped review and validate:

  • a common framework for interpretation,
  • The list of critical roles[1] and associated skills.

[1] A role in which a vacancy or a skills shortage jeopardizes the company’s operational performance, the continuity of its workflows, or its ability to adapt.

A Living Document

This document serves as an initial working document, enriched by the discussions held during the RISC workshops. It is intended to be expanded and updated as the Lab Richesses Humaines continues its work, in conjunction with France Supply Chain’s existing resources: job descriptions, training guides, and initiatives to attract talent and promote career paths.

Members who wish to contribute to its development are invited to contact the Lab team.
