In 1984, France's first higher education in logistics in France was created under the impetus of ASLOG (the association's former name). ISLI in Bordeaux was born of the conviction of its members that the country needed to train top-level students in all the new techniques, tools and professions that would make up the future of logistics.

Since then, close ties have been forged with research professors at CRETLOG and AIRL-SCM in particular. Academics and practitioners come together to imagine the solutions of today and tomorrow for a more virtuous and efficient Supply Chain and logistics.

These collaborations take many forms: partnerships, presentations, prizes, meetings, joint projects, etc.

Supply Chain Management Research

Once upon a time in Supply Chain Management

On the occasion of the association's 50th anniversary in December 2022, Aurélien Rouquet, Professor of Logistics at NEOMA BS, Editor-in-Chief of the Revue Française de Gestion and General Secretary of AIRL-SCM , took to the stage to tell us about the genesis of Aslog, its transformation into France Supply Chain and, more generally, the history of our professions.

The exercise was so popular that it gave rise to a series of exciting video vignettes to be found on our YouTube channel.

The historic partnership between France Supply Chain and AIRL-SCM

The International Association for Research in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (AIRL-SCM) was founded in Lisbon in 2002. It brings together French-speaking professors, researchers and practitioners interested in logistics and supply chain management.

In 2019, the two associations decided to set up cross-representation on their boards of directors. Both a commitment and a symbol.

" Over the past twenty years, AIRL-SCM and France Supply Chain have been working together to link the creativity and scientific expertise of the academic world with the know-how and practices of companies in the field of logistics and supply chain management. This solid and fruitful partnership brings shared benefits for AIRL-SCM members, as well as for France Supply Chain members. "

Karine Samuel, Professor at Grenoble Alpes University, President of AIRL-SCM and member of the Board of France Supply Chain

We also support the Rencontres de l'AIRL-SCM, the biannual congress of this learned society, with several of our members taking part in round-table discussions.

At this event, professionals exchange ideas and experiences with researchers.

But the finest expression of this partnership to date remains the creation of the Prize for the best article in Sustainable Supply Chain.

France Supply Chain award for best article on Sustainable Supply Chain

In 2022, France Supply Chain and AIRL-SCM launched this initiative with the aim of rewarding and highlighting a scientific publication making a significant contribution in the field of sustainable supply chain and in line with our manifesto for a frugal and desirable supply chain.

The jury is made up of a mix of teacher-researchers who are members of AIRL-SCM and practitioners who are members of France Supply Chain, with a €2,000 prize awarded by France Supply Chain. Evaluation criteria include a focus on :
