On the program: Reuse Containers, Reverse and network design

The Lab serves as a one-stop shop for member SMEs, enabling them to make full use of France Supply Chain's resources and network. The group shares its best practices to build more sustainable businesses.

There is an Anglo-Saxon term that aptly represents the spirit required to apply the tertiary decree to warehouses, and which has no evocative equivalent in French: fairness. It was with this spirit of fair play that the tenants and owners, who are jointly responsible for implementing the text, approached the subject. Together, they produced a document setting out common principles.

The tertiary sector decree, promulgated in 2019, requires owners and tenants of tertiary sector buildings to jointly improve their energy performance. However, it does not clearly specify who is to do what, merely stating that everyone must do "according to the provisions of the lease". This strong injunction as to the goal to be achieved, but vague as to the division of responsibilities, "puts to the test" a landlord-tenant relationship that is already often structurally "in tension". While the issue is ultimately one of profit-sharing (as the text imposes nothing if the savings exceed the costs), points of understanding and improvement needed to be shared... and have been.

At Afilog's instigation, the sector's associations and federations (Union TLF, France Supply Chain, Club Demeter) have agreed on a set of common principles, formalized in a co-signed document.

France Supply Chain will be hosting a conference on Day^{1 of} the Salon International du Transport & de la Logistique.

The 2024 edition of the show aims to become a showcase for players committed to a process of continuous progress: Métamorphose 24 - Les voies du changement.

The event will take place in the Metamorphose Room.

The boom in e-commerce has led to a growing need for warehousing facilities close to major urban centers. This is true not only of France, but also of other countries in Europe and the rest of the world.

The location of warehouses is just as much a strategic issue for the private sector, with large companies encouraging their construction in tactical zones, as it is for the public sector. The latter have to reconcile the fact that, while warehouses are an essential link in the development of an urban or rural area and a source of employment, they also have a significant environmental and social impact.

This conference will highlight the fact that the construction of warehouses seems necessary as trade develops, but that their location cannot be left to chance and responds to highly strategic logic.

The talk will be given in English on the main stage.

We are delighted to invite you to a captivating conference on decarbonizing the supply chain, with a focus on two themes: the challenges of warehousing and shipping. The presentations will be complemented by a round-table discussion with supply chain professionals.

This work was carried out by students in the Master 2 GPLA (Production Logistics and Purchasing Management) program at IGR-IAE Rennes, in partnership with France Supply Chain and Bretagne Supply Chain.
